Oilers won't be in the position to take Goodrow contract with their cap outlook. Can't afford 3 bottom 6 wingers with cap hits like that (already have Foegele and Kassian under contract that year).

Doesn't matter if Ovi has declined or not, the fact is he's the biggest name in Washington Capitals history, dwarving the likes of Bondra, Hunter, and Kolzig. He's clearly stated he doesn't want to go anywhere other than DC, and the Capitals even trying to trade him would seriously handicap the credibility of the organization. If they traded him, they would have a mass fan revolt and most likely many would stop cheering for DC. But at the end of the day, even if the organization does try to trade him, hes not going anywhere. He will exercise his NMC and NTC in order to prevent a move, play out his final days in DC with Backstrom, and when both of their contracts are up, unless Ovi is near the goal record, both he and maybe Backy will go to the KHL to finish their careers.
