I don’t see the second trade helping Seattle much. Yamamoto isn’t really better than what they are giving up. I think Geekie has much more potential. I could see Seattle being a potential landing spot for Jack Eichel, especially if they want to be taken seriously and bring in a franchise centerpiece. The trouble Seattle has is their best assets are first round picks and players like Matt Beniers, who they probably don’t want to give up. But they don’t really have anything else Buffalo would be interested in. So if they really were interested in Eichel, unless they gave up a ton of assets for the future I don’t see a Jack Eichel trade working without Beniers involved.

Beniers ceiling is not higher than Eichel. Eichel is a top 7 or 8 player in the league when healthy. There is a less that 1% chance Beniers ends up being anything close to Eichel level.

What makes eichel anywhere near top ten player? Zero hardware not even close to seeing post season in how long? There was enough talent over the past few seasons that a top ten player would have made them atleast respectful which he couldn’t even do that. It’s funny to consider him soo highly but from an outsider it kinda looks like Buffalo made a smarts choice and did some addition by subtraction and are better off for it.

And the whole "Addition by subtraction" thing is funny too. They played the majority of the season last year without him and were bad. This year? They've played the Habs, Yotes and Canucks-None of whom are playoff teams. Also, let's see a bit bigger sample size than 3 games from Craig Anderson and Dustin Tokarski.
