Description
AGM inspired by: https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/sharks/sharks-chances-jack-eichel-trade-impacted-evander-kane

Like I said in the title, I don't think an Eichel trade to be the best move for the Sharks. Could be another Karlsson fiasco.

Hertl would be a cheaper option for Vegas then Eichel who can fit in their cap situation. It also fits their all or nothing approach they've taken since year 2. Sharks would 100% ask for Brisson as he has great chemistry with Bordeleau. 2022 VGK 1st is there so we don't have to give up our own for Eichel.

I tired to base this trade off of what Buffalo wanted from Vegas:
2022 1st VGK=2022 1st VGK
Merkley + 2022 3rd SJS=Krebs
Labanc=Hague
2024 1st SJS + Gregor + Gambrell=Smith

If its a consensus this isn't enough, I'll make an effort to edit it. I want to get an idea what people think it would take to make Eichel a Shark (without giving up Eklund, Bordeleau or a prospect we pick up in a Hertl trade, Brisson in this case). I am prepared to get shredded by both Sharks fans and others.

Don't see them wanting those two 1sts. I see them wanting the Sharks 1sts in 22 and 23.

DW has done crazier, I could see him talk Buffalo down to the 1st is used in the trade. Though, valid point.

I wonder if there's any way we could snatch Brisson without giving up Hertl. Probably not but I can dream lol.

So the big piece is labanc, and my kneejerk reaction was to see how long his contract was so we could be rid of him. Too much quantity, needs more quality.

Its not really a trade centered around anyone. Merkley, Labanc, and the two 1sts are all decent to good value. Gregor, Gambrell, and the 3rd are cushion to a not-horrible return.

Edit: And I believe RHD is a position of need in Buffalo (sorry if I'm wrong), Merkley is 1 year out from coming in and will slot into the Top 4 within 2 years of that.

Bordeleau, Coe, 2022 sj,1st, Labanc and Ferraro would be their asking IMO and that would be a huge no from me. personally i like the team set up now and looking at the future we’re better off shying away from big trades and focus on building through the draft

It was worth a try and seeing what people think. If Sharks are in on Eichel I hope DW can pull some trade magic ala Joe Thornton trade.

I hope both Robins and Bordeleau can hit their ceilings, that would be an impressive 1-2 punch.

So the premise of this AGM is “let’s trade for Jack Eichel without giving up anything Buffalo actually wants” right? You can’t tell that’s a significant problem?

The only piece you offer with any value is Lebanc, and his value has dropped in the last year. 2 low first Rounders, a borderline top 6 winger, A defensive prospect they don’t need, A couple of third line forwards, and a mid round 3rd. If the best Kevyn Adams can do for Jack Eichel is a package this bad, I’d rather let him get the surgery and come back here.

This is about what Buffalo will get for Jack.
Labanc, current roster player RW
Merkley, prospect with a decent upside RHD
2022 1st round pick (VGK), 2024 1st round pick (SJS) and 2022 3rd round pick (SJS) a couple of first round draft picks.
I like the conditions you put on the trade so the 2024 could become 2022.
Plus he is sent out West.
You punched the four tickets that Buffalo needs.
EDIT:
I should have added, drop Gregor, and Gambrell, Buffalo's bottom 6 is fine right now, maybe the Sharks add another 3rd instead.
Leblanc's cap may be sufficient to keep the Sabres above the floor.
In the real world the Sabres may throw in a low ranking prospect to keep the rosters even.

Thanks for the input, at least some people found the trade reasonable.
