That was the year MacKinnon went 1st and Barkov went 2nd. Hard to get much better than that. (Also Elias Lindholm, Shea Theodore and Bo Horvat in that 1st round)
Its been a weird October for many big names heck many teams we considered cup favs seem to be having bad Octobers.
Matthews, Marner, Pettersson, among others have been pretty quiet so far.
Still early so no need to panic as theirs over 70 games left for all teams in the season
I always give it 20 games or so before jumping to conclusions, but I can't help but be concerned about certain teams/players. Matthews is a superstar. He'll be just fine. 17 SOG in 3 games. Marner will get it together eventually. Elias is another story.

Same, as let's be real if there are any issues by then something will give and Dubas will make a move or two to address any issues

If we look most of the better picks were in the 2nd and third rounds. Other than the top 10 we could see a big redraft
LOL-Dangle on last night's 7-1 loss: "I saw fans that were saying "Wow, this reminds me of Mike Babcock's second-last game as Leafs head coach" *screams* THIS IS HOW AWFUL THE TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS HAVE BEEN HISTORICALLY AND ALWAYS, THE FACT THAT THEY CAN LOSE 7-1 TO A TEAM THAT BARELY HAS ANY PLAYERS, AND IT REMINDS US OF A GAME THAT WAS NEARLY IDENTICAL TO IT!!!!""
Imagine E Kane is actually vaccinated and still used a fake vaccine card 💀💀
Either that or Friedge might be hinting he’s as good as gone, which is equally as entertaining.

Is the one guy Bertuzzi? Or E Kane?
Funny thing it is that. Kane is vaccinated and did fake his vaccine. I can’t remember but pretty sure was faking dates so that he could travel sooner or some **** idfk that dudes nuts. At least that’s what I read somewhere; could be wrong.

Hey we all saw that Amazon docuseries, there’s no way Dubas is gonna fire his buddy Keefe unless his job depended on it. Babcock and Dubas I’ve been hearing about them not getting along from 2 years prior. Iunno if I want Keefe fired tbh who’d replace him, Tortorella?

Yeah just as a one year stopgap to wake these clowns up

Pettersson has been better than Marner over the last 3 seasons - he’ll be fine

No he hasn't, Marner scored 94 points in 2018-19, Pettersson's rookie campaign was terrific but not as good as that. You could make the case he was the better player in 2019-20, but his awful, injury-riddled last year and his slow start now make him a lot more worrisome than Marner, who despite being off to an equally poor start has been a lot more consistent.

I don’t care about Marners points, he always has a superstar on his line. He’s not a line driver. Pettersson has been a much better finisher and just as good of a playmaker. He’s also better defensively and on the powerplay.

Btw Peterson’s 2nd year in the league was a lot better than his rookie season. He was a top 5 center in the league

I hear the complaint about Marner not being a line driver a lot, but I don't think Pettersson has proven that he himself is one yet either. He definitely has more potential to be one than Marner, but has been a lot more inconsistent, I don't think he's that much better on the PP than Marner, I haven't watched enough of him defensively to argue or agree on that point.

The only thing Marner is better than Pettersson at is playmaking and it’s not by much. Pettersson carries his lines and increases their rate of scoring at an elite rate. Marner and Pettersson are both stars but Pettersson has the edge and it’s not that close.
