Vlasic is a health bomb now??

No, it's the same lines as last game, replace Hatakka with Vlasic. Though I do think Simek should be scratched before Vlasic.

Why is he playing Hatakka with Simek? That is super risky and he needs a vet with Hatakka.

Because Vlasic is terrible at hockey.

Why? All i can go by is the eye test in game one (not super reliable) but Vlasic is slow and weak.

Because a rookie shouldn't play with a human turnover machine. Mids has the experience to backstop for Karl's errors.

He was injured thru most of camp. They want him to have some healthy practices before playing. Also Bob doesn't like to break up lines that are having success.

Simek was the one who lost coverage on Dubois for the 1st goal. Vlasic still has upside, but Simek just doesn't look like an NHL D anymore, he isn't moving pucks, he isn't defending well, and he isn't very physical, might as well pair Vlasic with Hatakka, who is a much better compliment than Simek.

I agree about the physicality. He's become more err..umm flaccid for lack of a better term since being injured so much.
