Plus I got no clue what your qualms are with Evans, but pretty sure he's making atleast 1.6mil more than you the following 3 seasons. So he's much farther away from being a bum than you are

Imo it's a pointless move for both. Habs need Toffoli, and if Ducks should move Rakell for anything it's futures since they're balls deep in the rebuilding. Grant and Guhle are dime a dozen assets, they don't really add much of value to the trade as it is.

As the Anaheim GM, I would have no trouble accepting this offer, in particular because I have a sneaking suspicion that a year from now, Jake Evans will turn out to be a better #3C than Sam Steel.
