Strome can’t even crack Chicago’s lottery contending team, he has no value. I’d keep Kerfoot and offer a 4th for Strome at 50% Retained. He’s worse than Sam Bennett was at the time.

What's the thinking behind the trade? If Kerfoot is better than Strome, Leafs don't do the deal. If Strome is better than Kerfoot, Hawks don't do the deal.
Gee why would the Leafs want to trade their second leading scorer in the past 10 games?

to take Kerfoot's 3.5 off the books next year, and get a 3C upgrade. Kampf is more suited for a fourth line role. Strome has had good seasons but seems to have fallen out of favour with the Chicago coaching staff.

So you admit Strome is the better player, so you get the better player, the lower AAV that expires as a RFA, two and a half years younger, and you get a 4th round pick, you really pulled a fast one here, lol

Why do folks think hate Kerfoot so much and think that other teams bottom enders are sooooooo good. I agree Kampf is suited more than 4th liner. Last 11 games, Kerfoot is the Leafs 2nd leading scoring among forwards.
Fallen out of favour with Chicago coaches....usually means the player is not playing well.

do you have the slightest idea how leverage works? explain to me how Chicago is in any position to demand a higher return for the player they are scratching every night? classic example of buying low.

I don't hate Kerfoot but we have a clear hole at 3C that Strome could fill. Strome has also shown he can produce similarly or better than Kerfoot. And lastly, Strome is the cheaper option.

Do you have the slightest idea the difference between teenager logic and real world logic?

Chicago doesn't need to unload Strome, sure they might want to trade him, but they aren't paying a 4th to unload him. They will make a player swap without adding assets.

I certainly don't understand the logic. Seems like you say Strome is the better the player. So the Hawks should trade him for a worse player, a more expensive player and throw in a pick too?
Strome has fallen off lately. No reason to think he can be a good 3C now, geez if the Hawks don't want him. Kerfoot has been the second best Leafs point getting in the past 11 games.

you think Strome is okay with sitting out every game? how long until he requests a trade? we both know that that would only hurt Chicago's leverage more. pretty straight forward logic as to why Chicago would be okay with adding a mid round pick for a forward that can actually play for them and get 30-40 points in their middle six.

These "11 past games" you keep talking about equate to 2 goals and handful of assists (how many of those were secondary assists?). Not really much to be excited over especially when you consider Tavares was hurt for the MTL series and both AM and Mitch are going through slumps. Michael Bunting has scored 2 goals in three games, is he now our most valuable goal scorer? Kerfoot is a replaceable winger, and could be the key to getting Kampf off the third liner. Personally, I'm going to take a decent 3C in Dylan Strome over a decent third line winger in Alex Kerfoot.
