Wtf is that OTT trade? For Girard and Using Branstrom as a piece you are talking about at least a 1st and 2nd if not 2 1sts. Ffs Girard is a 23 yr old top pairing dman on a team friendly contract with he next SIX seasons. That is a premium asset, not some chump change move like this.

I feel like Girard is pretty overrated. Got exposed in the playoffs. Having a stacked team makes him look better than he is.

He isn’t overrated. He had a couple of bad games as did a lot of Avs. 23yr old top pairing dmen that can produce points fetches a very serious package, not a prospect still looking to make it as a regular and 2 2nd’s that is a total rip off. You are talking about having a a top pairing dman locked in at $5M for the next half decade. Awful awful awful trade for COL.

He is most definitely overrated. People calling him a top pair guy demonstrates that. He's not a top pair guy. He's a second pair guy with flaws defensively. It's like when Tyson Barrie was a "top pair" guy.

I watch him play a lot. He's soft and tends to look lost in his own zone. Was struggling hard against Vegas. Any bit of pressure and he makes mistakes. Having such a good team covers up for his flaws. He's good when he's got the puck on his stick and has elite teammates to pass it to. Without the puck he's not a good defender. I don't think Colorado will ever win while having him as a top pair guy. Exactly why he's more a top 4 guy.
