????? The usual non sensical trades. Strome right now is not better offensively than Kerfoot, and certainly isn't a better player. Trading an NHL Dman for a AHL forward doesn't help the Leafs offence either. And to think Krat is suddenly a 2nd line winger.

You do get a few more years of control though. Its a good trade for the Leafs but Chicago wouldn't do it.

I wouldn’t trade Dermott, he is playing well. If Holl continues to struggle, I hope Dermott will be able to replace him on the second pair.

So the leafs need a top 6 winger "badly" so you trade kerfoot for a slow guy who cant drive a line or scoreon his own or defend and then add another guy who has shown zero ability to be even an nhl regular let alone a top 6 guy and couldn't make the rangers?

Trading a defenseman to the Rangers is kind of like taking sand to the beach.

Sure they do they can say its not going to happen! Just like the Leafs did when Mikheyev asked for a trade.

Dermott is not an improvement on our backend at all. Completely worthless and unnecessary to acquire him. We own Kravtsov’s rights still for the next 5-6 years. No need for an awful move like this.

But even if Kerfoot is overrated.....he's better than any one else on the team that could take and his place, and better than other players on teams that the Leafs would /could trade for.
On most teams, there are 8 players playing above their cap, 8 players playing at their cap, 8 players playing below their cap. Sure you want to replace the players not playing to their value, but geez replacing them with worse players is no solution.
