Description
Kerfoot seem like a well liked playier among the team. Maybe mvoing him while also shedding a bit of cap is a good thing in a weird way.

If Engvall can keep his current pace up for 10 games or longer Chicago possibly considers this

You definitely need to change this, way too one sided for the Leafs:
        Strome > Kerfoot
        Nylander > Engvall

I’d be all over trading Kerfoot for Strome. He is clear upgrade offensively over Alex even if the numbers don’t really suggest that. But Strome’s status as a 3rd overall pick still means he’ll cost more than he probably should, at least while he’s still under the age of 25. Toronto is adding IMO

The reason Strome is on the outside looking in is because the Hawks have a glut of centers. They don't want a center back. Especially one with term.

But it's as compared to who else the Hawks have. Is he better than Kane/Debrincat/Kubalik/Hagel/Kurashev? No to all of those pretty quickly. Can he be an effective #3LW??? Maybe, because that's the one slot available to him, but that doesn't really help the Hawks...and it'll hurt them next year. Better to take any picks offered and flip those for something they actually need.

Doesn't chicago have a surplus of players? I thought they are moving strome because their roster doesn't have any room for him. I can't see them doing a player trade.

You know what the problem is in Leaf land? Constantly thinking about offense. Everyone knows the team has to get better defensively yet here we are discussing how trading for Strome makes the Leafs better offensively.

Until this team figures out how to play better defensively, it's not going to win playoff rounds.

You know what the problem with Leaf fans is not realizing there inefficiency to score at 5v5 that has plagued for the past two seasons.

Disagree. Strome has more upside than Kerfoot offensively but kerfoot is better today and definitely better defensively and two way.

Engvall is a good bottom 6 utility player it's just that the leafs are so cap crunched his few hundred k above min hurt.

He would probably be between the 9th-13th forward on every team in the league. The leafs just need that cap efficiency

Also what are you talking about?

The leafs are literally FIRST in the NHL in 5*5 goals for in the last 2 seasons (plus these few games)

        http://www.nhl.com/stats/teams?report=goalsforbystrength&reportType=season&seasonFrom=20192020&seasonTo=20212022&gameType=2&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=goalsFor5On5&page=0&pageSize=50

So they're scoring at es fine...

Very much disagree, but your a TOR fan and I'm a CHI fan... Especially disagree when it comes to Hagel. I could at least hear the argument he's equal to Kurashev...who the Hawks are really high on, but Hagel is far better than Kerfoot. Hagel's arguably the Hawks best forward so far this year. It's between him and Dach.

Im not going on this season where I'll clearly state I haven't watched him. But more importantly it's been 2-3 games. Im going off prior to this year. 2-3 games is too small a sample size to make much out of.

Of course if he's still doing this at your Thanksgiving I'm happy to reassess
