Eichel Potential Landing Spots Per LeBrun

Créé par: Not_Not_Batman

Date de création initiale: 15 oct. 2021

Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Eichel talk starts around the & minute remaining mark.

Anaheim - A team that knows they can live without the player for this season

St. Louis - Under the radar team lurking, but hard to see if they want to contend for the playoffs

Calgary - Has done their due diligence

San Jose - Makes sense if they can get Kanes contract off the books and want to move towards being a younger team.

Looking for input from each team on what should be added or subtracted from each trade to make them feasible.

Each trade is just Eichel at this point happy to add from a Sabres perspective if needed. (I also forgot to add Eichel to each trade and didn't want to redo them lol)

Kane not actually apart of this trade. Trade only happens if NHL allows the Sharks to terminate his contract.

Eichel is not coming here. But if for some f'd up reason he does I can assure you this organization will not trade Eklund. NHL is leaning toward a suspension on Kane according to Kypreos and will be allowed to resume his career after. Highly doubt termination is possible. Coe is also highly touted in the org. And if we wanted to get younger we wouldn't trade our youngest talent for an older guy with a friggin herniated disk.

I imagine SJ would trade their 1st this upcoming draft. they really want to make the playoffs but they simply would not move Eklund. Hertl would never waive for Sabres, either. So I think it's moot.

The Ducks shouldn't do that. The 2022 1st is just too valuable without any protection. I don't think the Sabres would accept anyways.

ANA package looks a little light compared to the rest but I guess it depends where that 1st rd pick lands. Personally I think that's too steep of a price for the Blues when the Sabres are running out of leverage. 3 NHL ready guys - one who's already an impact guy - and a guaranteed 1st for a guy with a serious neck injury and a nasty trade request situation. Plus there's the cap situation, gonna be hard to make a team without Thomas, Neighbours, Perunovich and a 10m center instead... but the star power would be pretty awesome to add. If Tarasenko replaced Perunovich in that package it makes it more interesting... BUF would have to figure out a 3rd team to flip Vladi.

The last package I came up with was maybe a little light - BUF probably pushes for Thomas or Neighbours - but something like this with the conditional picks could be interesting.

Tarasenko, Vladimir
Kostin, Klim
Bolduc, Zachary
Barbashev, Ivan
2022 1st round pick (STL)
2023 3rd round pick (STL)
Additional Details:
2022 pick becomes 3rd if Blues miss playoffs or Eichel does not play in 50% of playoff games
2023 pick becomes 1st if Eichel plays in over 75% of reg szn games in 2022-23 and Blues make playoffs

Hertl? Maybe a 3rd team to flip him to if he's 100% not resigning in San Jose.

LeBrun is full of it. The Blues are not doing any fantasyland BS like that and can't come close to affording it anyway.

No sharks are almost as high on Bordeleau as they are on Eklund, and he is FAST proving last year was no fluke! he is our future 2 C

sharks trade is a MASSIVE overpay for a guy with a severe Neck injury, one wrong hit after he comes back and he could be career over
IMO
Eklund is the equivalent of 2 1sts
Hertl is the equivalent of 3 1sts
Coe is a 1st round equivalent
and add in the 22 first which will be top ten probably in a deep

this ask is the equivalent of 7 1st round picks. NO player in the league is worth that, especially not an injured one.

I know! but the sharks need a serious influx of young talent to build their future and a Blossoming future top 6 center is something the sharks shouldn't trade.
I'm not big on Eichel, I just don't think we can afford to bring him over, it would weaken what we have built over the last 2 years and wont put us in cup contention.

the only reason Bordeleau wasn't a top 10 pick in 2020 was he was 5'7" at the draft. since the 2020 draft the kid grew... A LOT! He is now listed at 5'10/5'11", give him another year in the NCAA and another offseason to gain the muscle to match and now you have a the Steal of the 2020 draft.
he will be our 3C in 22/23 or 23/24 and by 25/26 will be our 2C. he is our Hertl replacement if we lose Hertl, and if we keep Hertl he will push Couture to wing sooner than later.
