He’s overpaid by a bit . I’d say 7.5 would’ve been fair but we locked him up for 7 years. After a few years when the cap goes up, it’ll look great, he’s going to be captain now and bring all the intangibles.

He plays a more important position so sure we can go with that but I think they’re pretty close. I think Norris vs Suzuki is a comparison I like more. Suzuki has an extra year on Norris tho. But they’re similar and both really good defensively

yes its 3 more mil but this is the same thing for the marner deal but covid hit, so this should be thought of when chirping marner contract

i agree its a slight over pay but one i think Sens will happily live with.

If Tkachuk gets 60+ pts this year, it won’t look as bad. He was on pace for 53 last year but you forget he was basically playing with Norris and Batherson who were both having their first full season in the NHL.
