After reading numerous comments tonight after only the first game, I’m so glad I didn’t have some of you as siblings, parents or coaches. My goodness some of the comments are so negative.

It reminds me of a meeting in 1999, I was head coach of Junior A. We had played an exhibition game and we needed to cut two defensemen. We agreed on one but one of our scouts wanted to cut M, while I wanted to cut N. he was furious and threw his binder on the ground and stormed out.

I told the rest of the staff, N is currently better than M, but M come playoff time will be a beast to play against. Because I had final say, we kept M.

N played 57 games of Junior A for another team. M got drafted to NHL, was captain of his AHL team and played 17 seasons in the NHL/AHL.

You build for the playoffs and don’t have emotional reactions after the 1st game of the year.

He's really not tho. Better than savard offensively yes, but much much worse defensively. And i didn't think it was possible but he may be worse than niku actually yes

Building for the playoffs only works if they actually make the playoffs...

    Schueneman is a Kulak 2.0
When Kulak came here, nobody thought he could be a regular
I watched Kulak in Laval and he was great
Ask everyone who watched Laval, Schueneman is by far their best dman. In the preseason game, he didn’t called played bad either

Valid point. But let’s encourage them towards that goal instead of people tearing them down.
