I would say that it is a solid deal, but Sabres fans want this trade to fix everything in their back water sewer. So expect them to say hell no to this deal.

I doubt the Sabres even talk to you without bringing up Newhook. That goes double if they're going to retain for the next 5 years. Then the question becomes, "How do they pay Eichel and Mac and Rants and Makar and Gabe and still have a decent goalie?"

Yup Sabre fans want the moon, this is a decent offer, as it addresses most of the Sabres needs, Center, RW and RHD.
I think the retention kills the deal.
There is not enough there to justify any retention, but the salary of almost 3 NHL players is too much (Anderson, Caggiula and Hayden together are paid $2,250,000).
To absorb $2,000,000 the Sabres would need to carry another 3 low salary players.
On the other hand replace Bowers with Newhook and I would do the deal.
