Have you spoken with him or something? It’s dumb to just count on a discount, it may happen, but it’s the exception rather than the rule.

Biased view but he is better all around then both those players. With the cap probably going up significantly in 3-4 years his agent will be doing him a disservice if he signs for 8 years at anything less than 10.5M - 11M per year. I know 8 or 9M is a lot of money but if I'm him and Boston seriously offers 8 years at 8 or 9M he should take that with offence. He is there most indispensable player moving forward. Pay him what he deserves. Do both of you seriously think he should settle for less money than Werenski, Jones, Nurse not to mention Karlsson and Doughty. I would bet if you were in his shoes you would not want to take an 8 times 2-3M = 16-24M haircut.
