  6. Choix de 1e ronde en 2023 (ANA)
Détails additionnels:
Conditional 2022 and 2023 first round picks if Eichel plays in 80% of games following his return in winter. This selection is top five protected. This pick can be deferred to 2023 by Buffalo, and is also top five protected. If the 2022 pick is deferred for any reason, the Sabres receive picks in 2023 and 2024, however if Eichel is not healthy for 2022-23 season and does not play in 75% of games, the 2023 first will convert to a 2023 second round pick, and Buffalo will receive an unprotected 2024 first round pick.

2023 first is top five protected. 2024 is unprotected. Buffalo can defer both picks to 2024 and 2025 if the pick is outside of the top 3.

If conditions fail to be met for 2023 first, the picks defer to 2024 and 2025. If Eichel fails to meet conditions from this point out, 2024 first turns into a 2024 second, and if Eichel is not healthy for 2024-25, Anaheim sends a 2025 second round pick.
ANA
  1. Dell, Aaron
  2. Eichel, Jack (800 000 $ retained)
Détails additionnels:
Realistically, I think Buffalo is going to want mostly futures and almost established roster players like for example guys like Comtois or Rakell, even though Comtois is only 23. I do have Max Jones here but he’s still developing and still has upside, and the Sabres do need some size. Established is simply not what Buffalo wants right now. But they probably want guys who are young and developing on an NHL roster and/or close to NHL ready or has tremendous upside.

And the team trading for Eichel likely wants the same. They also likely do not want to give up established roster players, especially since Eichel will not be available for months and has question marks. There will be a lot of conditions. I have Buffalo retaining a small amount of salary here. I have Dell going over to Anaheim as well in an AHL move for both teams. Dostal will likely be first call up ahead of UPL

MIN
  1. Henrique, Adam (2 900 000 $ retained)
Détails additionnels:
Henrique is a lot more appealing if a team retains 50% of his salary and Minnesota could use another centerman. Rask coming back helps Buffalo get to the cap floor

Realistically, the Sabres should absolutely not want rookies at an NHL Level, and frankly, it's the biggest failure of the franchise going into this season (Eichel situation aside) that like 25% of their line-up is made of rookies. Regardless of whether they are ready or not, sticking them up in the NHL is a guaranteed way for them to get shelled every night and develop bad habits. Leave them in the AHL for another year or two. This franchise never learns. This is just another way to rush a rebuild and completely mess everything up doing it.

They have one rookie, but he’s 23 and has played 4 pro seasons in Finland and dominated the past 2 years. Having rookies isn’t a problem.

Sabres arent trading Eichel for a goalie when they have 3 goalie prospects that have similar potential already

If Zegras and Drysdale are REALLY off the table, how about

    Comtois
    Perreault
    Henrique
    2022 1st (with conditions)
    2023 2nd

Crappy deal, but I'd love Comtois.
