Next Season After Some Moves

Description
This isn't very realistic, too many moving parts, and I don't think Guerin cares for either Strome or Kravtsov, but this would be a more well balanced offense than what we're going to have this season, and it would allow us to reunite Eriksson Ek with Foligno.

For the Fiala trade, I already know LA fans aren't going to like it, so just pretend it could be any team for this value. He's going to be traded, some GM is going to want him, regardless of fans opinions, and this is what his value should be.

You're absolutely right -- whether or not Los Angeles would be interested in him, that's an accurate evaluation of Kevin Fiala's value.

100% agree here, I would add that I’m all for downgrading the pick if it means getting a guy like Turcs tho. Best prospect possible, the figure out the pick is how I’d approach it.

Yeah I went with Kupari and the 1st because I think prospects like Turcotte, Mercer, Lundell, Marchenko, etc are all off limits at this point. I'm definitely open to other ideas for prospects though.

If you look at the situation, I do think Turcs could be on the table. He’s still a great prospect but not the one they thought they drafted at 5 OA. If they think Fiala can help them into the playoffs this year and they can sign him after, I think that makes a good bit of sense for everybody.

I’d really like Mercer but it looks like he’s locked up in NJD for the time being. I’d keep my eye on Suzuki/Rees/Drury in CAR with another piece or 2 as well.

Unless that + is Reichel, we're not interested. Fiala will return a better package than Greenway, and we need the better prospect/pick.

I highly doubt Strome lasts much longer than 2 more weeks in CHI. And you will likely be very disappointed in the return.

Well, I think if we dropped the pick and did a strait up 1v1 trade swap of Fiala for Vilardi that could make some sense too.

That said, I'd still prefer Turcotte if we could get him back in the trade.

I'm not as married to the idea of needing a center back as I used to be, but I love Vilardi. I just really can't see LA trading any of their top guys, or NHL ready young guys. Byfield, Turcotte, Vilardi, I just don't think it's realistic that they trade those guys. They're not that close to competing, and any one of those three (or countless others) could slide to wing if need be.

But assuming they like Eriksson Ek and Rossi at center next season, and see Khusnutdinov as a center moving forward, we don't need a center back for Fiala. We just need skill. Looking at wingers opens up our options significantly.

And if not, it would have to be Strome++ at a minimum. Strome, 22 1st, and a prospect not named Reichel... Dach (Colton) maybe?

Even that I'm not enamored with. Fiala is our best shot at getting another high end prospect or pick. If we're not getting that for him, we're just wasting him.

Yeah, I agree with ya completely on that one right there. Rossi is legit, even if it's going to take him a little longer than we would all like, he will get there. Khusnutdinov looks like he's an absolute stud on that SKA St. Petersburg top-six, even if it's on the wing. Russo has said on a couple of occasions that the Wild brass view him as a center, even though he's been either the 1RW or 2RW whenever he's been in the lineup so far. That team is already pretty set with their top-six center depth so they don't need him there. It's just good to see him succeeding in a top-six forward role right now.

So even though it's not as dire of a need now. We could still use 1 or 2 more center prospects that could either be a center or winger in the NHL that have top-six upside. Just from a organizational flexibility and prospect pool depth standpoint.

I would rather have too many C prospects than not enough. I think we as Wild fans should all feel that.

After watching Dach during the prospect tournament and preseason I think he would be a decent acquisition even if he’s not his brother and that 1st is the real prize. The 2022 draft is supposed to be as deep and good as both the 2003 and 2015 drafts were. It's right up there. Getting another 1st round pick for this draft for Brackett to use is smart business.

That's a really solid return for Fiala and is the minimum I'd be looking to get back for him.

Yeah I just don't think it's the smartest use of assets when we could get a better prospect than Dach, and still get a 1st, for Fiala, and then get Strome for Greenway.

It would be an adequate return, it's just not what you aim for.

The 2003 and 2015 drafts are widely considered the two greatest drafts of all time. 2020 was considered incredibly deep for its first 3 rounds and the reason why a lot of 1st round talent spilled into the 2nd round. Both Khusnutdinov and O'Rourke are two such talents from that draft. 2022 is going to be a much, much better draft than even 2020 in that regard. That 1st round pick will more than likely be just as good as if not better of a prospect than even Reichel is. It's value is at minimum of equal value to Reichel in that regard. The only difference is Chicago gets to hold onto its current top prospect in exchange for giving up a little more value to us to do it.

Strome has to be worth as much as Kupari? I was thinking like Strome and a 1st for fiala
