He is good enough that he ought to be claimed…if he wants to play. It’s not the $3m I would balk at, it’s the “may retire” part. Went down that road with Corey Crawford last year.

I agree Hamonic is good enough to be claimed but the Devils have some decent prospects at D now. I wanna see what Jaros/ Geertson can do; if they stink then roll with Bahl/ White/ Walsh/etc see if any of them are NHL ready to possibly replace Subban next/ this year.

Hes not being forced, he can find work elsewhere. Not in Canada and on many US teams, but thats his choice.
Think of it like this, you tell your boss, im not going to work a good portion of March. He asks why, you say you dont agree with the HR policies on something. You then tell him, in May and June (our really busy time btw) theres a good chance you wont be coming in to work, because that same policy is really in effect and the other guy who does the same job can do it.
Your boss has you walked to the curb with your desk in a box!
Now add to that, you are helping to let this pandemic continue to stick around bc of whatever dumb reason you have.

If you go into the service u get 18 shots, without a say! It's a pretty dumb argument to not try and be as healthy, safe and unselfish as you can, but no, freedom! Cause thats been working so far!

Everyone who is eligible should be vaccinated.

But if we accept forced medical decisions, it will make life worse for everyone in long-term. If the decision-makers will be making decisions for betterment of the collective, it will often come at the expense of the individual.

Again, you were given a handful of innoculations as a kid to keep you and the public from catching these diseases. Not too many cases of polio today, guess why we were all given a shot, nothing political nefarious, not a conspiracy, just good public safety.

I just had a look at the schedule and Devils are playing a total of two (2!) games in Canada up until 15th of January and they're not back-to-back. I think this makes the Covid restrictions a mute point in regards to Hammonic and Blackwood in the short-term as well as overall given that Severson is returning from injury sooner or later and MB is at least considering getting vaccinated as of now.

Perhaps the border is a main issue for Hammonic not wanting to play with Vancouver as he'd forfeit so much of his wages with that organization.
This would be alleviated if he were to report to NJD due to our schedule. His contract is for two years so his 3m will not hurt the Devils in any way whatsoever.

I say claim him.
