Was talking to a Bruins fan today and casually mentioned that the bolts are without 90% of their finesse with Point and Kuch out. As the game.went on I started to wonder if maybe it was more than 90%.
For a team that was without "grit" three year ago we seem to have an abundance now.
Funny you mention this the night Cooper benched the only real "finesse" prospect in the system (Barre-Boulet was benched after the 2nd Boston goal).
We have definitely been trending more towards grit since that's kind of what we produce with our prospects now all being late firsts and later, but they still have some finesse (see Raddysh's goal).
I do not consider Boston a finesse team either though. I think we're just in a bit of a rough spot having to find a team identity post-Gourdrowman at a time we're without 2 of our 3 best offensive weapons. I bet we come on strong in the second half of the season if we get and stay healthy.

I think we've been leaning this way since the Blue Jackets sweep (and game 6/7 against the Caps)

Bruins are having a really weird year so far. Swayman/Ullmark tandem has been good, but not terrific, they haven't gotten much depth scoring from the bottom 6, Taylor Hall has been mediocre (Krejci's departure definitely has something to do with that), the new acquisitions (Haula, Nick Foligno, Nosek) have been disappointing, and it's anyone's guess as to what the heck is going to happen with Rask.

Yeah. David Krejci spent the last couple years praying for a legit wing. And now Hall is gonna spend the next couple praying for a legit c.
