Don’t know the point of the other two trades
Your not getting more then a 2nd round pick for Labanc
You need to add at least one first round pick and 50% retention trade for the cats to even consider

Burns with that much retention easily has positive value

Avs are not trading Newhook and a 1st for a rental. Come on man

Add a first to the Burns trade? What? You have to be joking. Half retention for a guy who plays over 25 mins a night and still produces at least 40 points a season makes this easily fair.

To be fair an Avs 1st is basically a 2nd. Tampa traded a "1st" for Goodrow. Hertl is 5x the player and heartily increases Avs chance at a cup when Kadri is a 3C that is some serious depth.

Are you aware Alex newhook + is in this trade proposal and the avalanche only get a rental?

Then there is the all-star game. There’s fan voting. Each team has to have a representative. John Scott was an all-star by that definition. That means nothing. For example, look at tampa. This year, three of the following players won’t be, “all-stars:” hedman, kucherov, point, vasy, stamkos…all because someone from buffalo has to be on the team.

Go back and take a look at what good second line centers get at the deadline. 1st and a 3rd. Not freaking Newhook, let alone Newhook and a first.

This. Newhook and Byram are untouchable. Besides their obvious talent being on ELC’s make them that much more valuable to the Avs.

Isles decline as well, labanc isnt getting a 1st and we certainly arent giving a 1st for him considering our depth at F and our lack of 1st round picks recently. Our last 1st rounder was in 2019 and wasnt/isnt a 1st round caliber talent.
