Oil don't have cap for that. Or need for a RH Dman like Subban really. If they need a Dman, to my eye, it should be a shutdown LD to play with Bouchard, pushing Keith-Ceci to sheltered minutes (ridiculous considering they cost about 9 mil combined, but necessary).

Yup, Oilers have made their bed on RHD with giving Barrie and Ceci 3 and 4 year deals. No way to bring in Subban without shipping out Ceci... and good luck attracting UFAs in the future if you sign someone to a 4 year contract and ship him off before opening night.

Yeah, the solution the the Oilers D will have to be another reasonable cost LD to play with Bouch as a second pair. Ekholm half retained for a 1st and other prospects/pieces would be really great, but doesn't solve next year. Still might be worth it for a playoff run.
