I agree, but as of right now, 2 of Bastian, Blackwell, Sheahan, Geekie, Cholowski, Borgen and Lauzon will have to go on waivers.
If I had to choose 2, it would probably be Blackwell and Borgen. I cannot see it being the younger guys. This trade essentially allows them to replace Bastian with ZAR and not lose their guys for nothing. They could now waive Blackwell and be roster compliant.

Cholowski seems like an easy one there -- the next one is harder. Would've been simpler if they didn't sign Sheahan...

You think Borgen/Lauzon > Cholowski? I thought he was quite good during preseason but I may be wrong.

Haven't watched him this pre-season so maybe he looks better given a new opportunity, but having watched him play for DET here and there over the past couple of seasons I would give the edge to Lauzon -- but Borgen is a toss-up. I'd lean Borgen though.
