You know there’s a reason the rest of the league called them the New York saints right? Just ask Boston or Pittsburgh the refs where sucking off the isles all playoffs
I watched both those series' and you must be deluded if you think they got away with more calls. The saints name was from Bruce Cassidy complaining, even though his team was the 5th most penalized team the whole year. The Islanders stayed out of the box due to their play throughout both the regular and postseason, being the second least penalized team last year, second only to Chicago. Yet when they played Tampa, almost every borderline call was a penalty for NYI while Tampa (as usual) got away with some underhanded play. But this wasn't the first series Tampa was aided by refs. Lets harken back real quick to Round 1 vs Florida, when the Lightning were gifted two games due to awful calls that weren't in Florida's favor. Without those horrid calls, the series looks much different and possibly a Florida win. But Tampa fans will ignore it, as they do with all things that hurt their worldview, such as the fact they had to go 18 million dollars over the cap and have a quarantined playoff in order to win their Stanley cups. I won't wish ill upon the team though, I will simply caution you to enjoy it while you have it, because Cap Hell is coming for Tampa in the next couple years.
