Some teams don't have the cap for the trade. But other teams, who have cap, would probably want to keep those young cheap assets. If anything they can spend that $$$$ on a UFA next season...who is better than Brady for the same price and keep their young cheap assets.
IMO no team is going to trade for Brady without a signed contract. I wonder how much leverage the 78th highest point getter among forwards really has. You're talking 5.9m money as being fair.

No, I'm not a hater, but you are such a homer. NO team is trading for Brady without a contract. They aren't aren't going to weakener their team while Brady sits at home. You do realize this is a cap league and most teams are closer to the cap. They have to know what inflated contract Brady is going to cost, and who they might have to jettison in case he is signed.
You are not a lover of bridge contract for Brady. Well the vastly superior Petterson signed 7.3m X 3. No reason why Brady can't be signed to a reasonable unless one or both parties are being unreasonable.

Sens don’t want to give Brady a 3 year deal because he can pull the same thing he’s doing now and then just take the QO and become a rental. The Sens aren’t stupid , they aren’t giving it to him. Best way to make an asset depreciate. You either sign him to a 6+ year deal or a 2 year bridge . If he refuses , keep him home

I understand why the Sens don't want to give him a three year deal. But to say the it's only a 2, 6, 7 or 8 year deal seems to be bargaining in poor faith. Other teams do it and with much more superior players than Brady. Now if Brady's "demands" are too much for any length deal, I agree with you don't sign him. But let's say Brady offers 3 years at 6m or 6.5m, that seems reasonable, and I don't know how the Sens could say no.
