Why would he be shopped? He was hands down the best player on the team tonight and still likely viewed as a major part of the future

Since Calgary wants to compete it would need to be an NHL ready player/prospect with high upside.

Could also do a 1 for 1 depending on who the other star is.

Philly is a team I could see being a good trading partner in that kind of situation

If he refuses to resign or something. Just hypothetical

He doesn't really have an option about resigning and he hasn't done anything like Trouba did to hint at wanting out. It's baseless speculation that he wants out of Calgary

I meant long term sorry lol. I know he has said nothing about that but that doesn't mean anything

With the emergence of Farabee and the healthy Lindblom (and the forward prospect depth thats currently "succeeding" in Allison, Frost, Foerster, Wisdom and Brink), Philly has the ability to move a young forward. They would have to move another big salary (JVR) to re-sign Tkachuk, but I could see Philly offering:

Travis Koneckny (25 yrs old, signed for 4 yrs at just 5.5mil, 60+ pts)
PHI 1st
A high/mid level prospect such as (defenseman Zamula, forward Wisdom, forward Jay O'Brien or goalie Errson for example)

OK, couple of quick questions first...

What do Calgary fans think of PK Subban?
(a) They love him
(b) They adore him
(c) Both a & b

World-beating, game-breaker, Andreas Johnsson would be
(a) Must-have part of the package
(b) The only piece Calgary needs
(c) A steal for Flames

Of the other Devils, which player is most interesting to Calgary fans?
(a) Blake Coleman's best friend, Pavel Zacha
(b) Former Flame Mark jankowski
(c) Jimmy Vesey

TBH Subban would probably play on our bottom pair and take ice time away from most likely Kylington who actually NEEDS good ice time after this pre-season

Don't know much about Johnsson.

We didn't qualify Jankowski, why would Trevling want him back? Vesey we could have had for free when leafs put him on waivers and in free agency. Can Zacha take Tkachuk's spot in the top 6?

Seriously, I would not add Subban, Jankowski, Johnsson to any real offer. I was just playing around.

Zacha can play top-6LW. He is also a C.
More offense at wing. Great wrist shot. Should match or come close to Tkachuk goal output.
Big, but not "a big". He is more of a quiet 6'3" 220.
Won't match Tkachuk's physicality, but big/physical enough to push through opponents' physicality.
Can move a little, but not a transition player. Prefers to be 2nd, 3rd guy entering zone.
Great at finding space off the puck.
Has played very well with Hischier and Bratt (both can move with the puck).
If you put him as third piece with two possession style players, that suits him the best.

Earlier in his career, they tried to make him into defensive center.
Had ups and downs. Can still play there, and may start at 3C for NJD this year.
Most of his experience has been at C. So the versatility is nice.

Also, he is Pickles' best friend.
