Braydon Point? If he is left off the team I will be so dissapointed

I know he loves his own players, but players like Schenn, Perron and Binnington belong way off of this team.

Players like Barzal and Point are way better. And at goalie Flower and Kuemper are better off the top of my head, and there can be an argument for Blackwood and Hart.

I bet there will be a ton of backlash if Binnington makes the team or 2/3 players on the 4th line

1. Aside from the obvious choices and the predictable line combos, this is a "defence comes first" team.

Armstrong would probably say something like ...

"That's nice that you can play on the powerplay, but can you kill penalties as well?"

"What are you like without the puck? What are you like in your own zone?"

"Can you go the distance and play 20 minutes a night as a forward or 25 minutes a night as a defenceman?



2. The choices Armstrong will make IMO prefer scenarios where the team needs the player more than the player needs the team.



3. Goalie choices will be solid veterans who have a history of winning big when the stakes are high.



4. And Armstrong might indulge himself with players that are close to his heart.

There was a ton of backlash when Stevie Y picked Martin St. Louis in 2014.

Even though he was on the wrong side of 35.

Schenn no but Perron could be considered and on the 55-player list that needs to be submitted by Oct. 15. He's been one of the best forwards the past years. Binnington is also an option among others.
We'll find out how biased he is (if he is).

Don’t get me wrong Perron is a very talented player, but over the likes of Point, Barzal and Couturier doesn’t make sense. Even players like Stammer and Tavares stand a better chance than him IMO. Same goes for Binnington he’s a good player, but I feel like you can’t pass on the other options.

Schenn shouldn’t even be considered at all, there’s too many players that are better than him so I won’t even start.

I could see Binnington being the #3 goalie.

Agreed, Point, Barzal and Couturier should be on the team. I would have Binnington (3rd G) if the Olympics started today.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they went with 3 lines of the most talented forwards they can find, and then a 4th line of defensive specialists. The type of hard grinding, win at all cost, PK players that help teams win in the playoffs. They could be used to win important D-zone face-offs and protect leads late in games.
