Indifferent at this point. He can hit, but I’m still not convinced with any of our young guys yet and we just lost a top 6 winger who hasn’t been replace yet. Maybe if the kids step up, but if not we’re in a tough spot.

It's all cute, till you're red in the face watching him hide behind refs when things get heated. By end of this season, you'll want your future 6m back. He does get points though, I'll give him that, while his improved responsibility has bumped him up from a Spooner to a Strome trust level.

Buch is a player who has weathered the storm (the unfair treatment of SOME young players by the organization and coaching) to become a real good player- with his best years to come...nothing against Blais- he might be an effective bottom 6er (we'll have to wait to make that judgement)... but he's not the type of player who the Rangers should have targeted in moving Buch. And seeing the contract he signed- it's not like the NYR can say they HAD to move him or risk losing him for nothing. A while back I posted the thing (for NYR) to do with Buch is to trade him for a mid 6 C or a real good C prospect...otherwise pay him...I stand by that. Unless the 2nd that came in this deal ends up being a stud- I got a feeling this trade will haunt NYR similar to the Yankees trade of Jay Buhner years ago!

I really like Blais I think he's going to surprise people. However, at the expensive of Buch I dont know. I really miss him.
