I'm not sure what the Canucks or Jets gain by swapping 4th pairing defensemen. NB costs the Canucks $500k more this year than OJ does, and both are doing nothing but eating chicken wings in the press box with Thomas Drance. Save the salary cap for a deadline acquisition if it looks like the playoffs are a reality.

As a Jets fan, I do that trade in a heartbeat.

Beaulieu is bigger, has 395 games of experience, plays both sides giving the 'Nucks much more flexibility and like any player can be traded at the TDL.

He still will fit as a 4th pairing on the Canucks, at $500k a year more than OJ while sitting in the press box.

The Canucks need depth on the right side. With Keeper breaking his leg that leaves Bowey, Burroughs and Woo, which one would you call up? or would you try and sign Demers?

Can't see the Jets passing on that offer.

I've been looking at Demers all this offseason. I like him as a player, and if Hamonic bails on this season, I'd hope the Canucks see if they could get him on a 1 year bargain deal.
