Thoughts:
Pleasant surprises: Jansen Harkins. Man the kid looks reenergized after a year in which he didn’t really get the minutes he deserved. However, harkins is known for having strong camps. Regardless, if he continues his play, he gets the job.
Evgeny Svechnikov. Not really a surprise as I expected him to be good but he looks more durable (idk if that’s even possible) than he did with Detroit and he’s definitely more confident. His shots will start going in eventually.
Riley Nash. Looks really good. Much better than the other veterans chevy has brought in. He can do it all.
Cole perfetti. I expected him to be good but dang, he looks nhl ready. Definitely still need to see him go up against better players but he looks good.
Michael Essimont. I am speed.

Disappointments: (very harsh word…but couldn’t think of a better one)
Kristian Vesalainen: he’s definitely bigger and stronger but he still lacks the confidence to use the best tool in his arsenal, his shot.
Paul stastny. I know, only 1 game but he looked invisible and was playing against half the Bakersfield condors.
Ville Heinola: as always, nice plays but he seems to be getting caught. He got bigger which is good but positioning and gap control need to be worked on. Wouldn’t mind seeing him with the moose for a bit more time. Maybe a mid season call up?
David gustafsson. Not really disappointed in him or anything but maurice needs to give him more minutes. He has nothing left to prove in the A. Maurice doesn’t seem to be giving him enough of a chance rn which is understandable considering other players ahead of him.
