          Very good point.
Maybe not exact dollar amount, and EP will be nearly 2 years older.
But in terms of clauses and bonuses, it might be a guide.

What’s crazy is he’s earned 100M in a single fight. Think about that for a second, the max contract in the NHL is what 16.5M/season? That would take 6 years at the maximum payout and then gets a little larger when you factor if he fights in Vegas (no state income).

          Year 1 & 2 are done.
Year 3: 75 GP, 22g, 40a, 62pts. Continued growth in game, bigger leadership role, Devils come close, but miss playoffs narrowly.

If he has an up year and by a lot like you suggested, he’ll take a bridge no matter what because his value can augment and by a lot resulting in more money. Barzal comparison would be my guess.

As long as his overall $ demand isn't completely reasonable, max out the term. Devils should be on the upswing and it give you a more certain cap picture. He's a little slower to develop than people would like but he looks like someone set to turn a corner.

Actually, I think any offer sheet AAV with 7-digits gets matched.

laugh laugh How do you figure? Hughes in 2 seasons has 52 points both Barzal and Draisaitl have far more. Even in his 3 ELC years Larkin put up 140 points which means that Hughes would need to put up 88 points this season to tie him. Not going to happen. Right now a 3 x $2,500,000 deal for Jack Hughes is fine. but then again New Jersey likes to overpay their players Hischier being one prime example.

In the McGregor fight he made around 275 million dollars, the Pac one 180, and the Canelo one 100. That’s 555 million in 3 fight. That’s more than 5 times McDavid’s whole contract. They don’t call him money may for no reason.

Yes i've seen Hughes play numerous times, But you pay your players big money to produce and right now Hughes isn't producing. In 2 years i hardly call 21 points and 31 points respectively producing.

Even if one were to use your comparison of counting raw totals, Larkin would still be behind Hughes.

          In their draft +1 seasons
          Hughes: 21 pts
          Larkin: 0 pts in NHL

          In their draft +2 seasons
Hughes: 31 pts in a shortened season
Larkin: 45 pts in full season

          D+1 and D+2
          Hughes: 52 pts
          Larkin 45 pts

If you want to look at scoring alone, compare ppg in their D+2 seasons:
          Hughes 0.55 ppg
          Larkin 0.55 ppg

Larkins D+1 season was 47 points at Michigan, Which he came close replicating in his D+2 season in Detroit with 45 points. So let's not go there. possibly over the course of their career Hughes might be better and that's a very slight might.

Larkins D+1 season was 47 points at Michigan, Which he came close replicating in his D+2 season in Detroit with 45 points. So let's not go there.

You are counting points accumulated in college vs Hughes' points in NHL?

possibly over the course of their career Hughes might be better and that's a very slight might.

          Possibly?
There is a pretty good argument that he is better than Larkin right now, at age-20

Yes i've seen Hughes play numerous times, But you pay your players big money to produce and right now Hughes isn't producing. In 2 years i hardly call 21 points and 31 points respectively producing.

Again, you're just looking at stats with no context. If you actually watched him play, you would see that Hughes was dominant offensively but struggled to put up points with meh linemates. Hughes was also one of the best players in the league in zone entries and was fantastic defensively...all while being a 19 year old. The points will come once he gets better linemates and once he gets older

But if you want to care about stats so much, at 19 years old these were both of their points per game average
          Hughes: 0.45
          Larkin: 0.46
