Roope Hintz is their future at C. There's no way they're gonna dump him. Would need to add multiple picks for that trade to work

Heres why I made that trade. Yes Hintz is very underrated, but Dallas has good forwards and replacements if he were to be traded. Dallas needs to fill that RD spot because they only have Hakanpaa and Sekera. Marino would strengthen the D core and if you're not in the playoffs and do move on from Klingberg, Hankanpaa becomes your 1st line RD. That's why I made the trade. And what you said is right im just telling you why I made the trade

Devils are not giving a future top-4 d-man and a potential lottery pick for 1/2 season of Bryan Rust.
Maybe a team that is a serious contender would pay that for 1.5 seasons of Rust.

And don't say it comes with an extension. Those types of deals are off-season trades, not deadline moves.

Nah, NJD are gonna be good this year. They wont make the playoffs but they wont have a bottom 10 pick I dont think. And there players are just gonna keep growing. There probably gonna move on from Wood, and Tatar was signed for 1 year (I think). So Rust to the devils makes sense. And yes it comes with an extension. Before the trade happens (or right after) he has to sign a contract with the devils going into next season

Also I'm pretty sure the signing a player right after he was traded to your team is a thing. For example...

Let's say the Devils trade for Rust. The devils immediately sign him to an extension so he's ready and you dont have to worry about it right before free angency

So in your mind Dallas will subtract Klingberg and Hintz just to add Marino. That would lose Nill’s job. Klingberg is better than Marino so it doesn’t make sense for us to downgrade. We absolutely aren’t moving Hintz, he was on an 86 point pace last year on a f*cked up leg, and we certainly aren’t moving him for a 2nd parring dman.

Name me forwards who can replace Hintz I’ll wait, and no a declining Seguin doesn’t count.

Also there’s absolutely no way we add to in a 80+ point centre for 2nd pair dman swap.

And there hasn’t been no one from Dallas’s main management that said they’re willing to sell Klingberg.

Our RD is Klingberg and Heiskanen, no need for Marino. With the add of Suter and Lindell, Heiskanen is bound to the right side for the next 4 years.

And if we are out of the playoffs, a 80-90 point fast and young centre is way more useful than a 30-40 point 2nd parring dman.

Yes, it is a thing. But it is usually an off-season thing.
Other than Mark Stone, I cannot think of a pending UFA who was dealt at deadline, then immediately re-signed with new team.

If a team wanted to pay a premium for Rust and extend him, that time would have been July 28th (or shortly thereafter).
Now, most teams have the 2021-22 squads in place.

I cant send the link of the klingberg thing because my brother sent a screen shot of a news thing on Instagram. And i don't say Klinberg and Hintz for Marino. Klinberg will get traded to a different team at the deadline of your out of a spot, and you will get probably picks and prospects for him. But that leaves your right side defense weak as h***. So thats why j said Marino us a good too ung replacement. And yes klingberg us better than marino

I know where the Klingberg bs came from, it's the same guy that said Chychrun was available for two 1sts. David Pagnotta isn't a trust worthy source. If you want trust worthy Dallas Stars insiders, the best of the best are Mike Heika, Matthew DeFranks and Saad Yousuf

Don't get me wrong if our right side is Heiskanen, Hakanpaa and Sekera it's weak as sh*t, but if our centre core is a declining Benn and Seguin, Faksa who played at an ECHL level last year, and Glendening it's even weaker then our right side on defense. Our offence would look like Benn, Seguin, Gurianov, and Robertson next year, after that our depth would look like Kiviranta, Faksa, Dellandrea and Damiani (both young rookies who played at an AHL level, Bourque, Stankoven and Johnston (all under 20), Glendening and then a bunch of AHL players. Ideally if we're out of the playoff chase, we build around players like Hintz, who can show the young guns how to develop.

Hintz for Marino is already bad for Dallas but then you want Dallas to add... Hintz is going to have a crazy season this year and a lot of people are going to take notice and these types of trades will stop.
