Trade them? You never get good value for them. Do you really think they aren't playing with the Canucks this season? Not that disagree with $$$ and term for the players that you proposed, but if they don't sign immediately, what the Canucks can do?

I think we can get good value for them and it would free up a lot of cap space for Boeser, Horvat and some new players. Hockey is a team sport and they don't seem to be team players these days.

So what teams have the cap to sign these players? And how to they dismantle their teams to fit them in under the cap. If they won't sign the contracts you proposed, who would pay them more?

The Kraken, Rangers, Predators, Coyotes, Blue Jackets, Ducks, Devils, and Red Wings all have cap space to sign one and The Sabers and Senators could sign both without having to move out money. I think all of those teams would love to have one or both of them and would be willing to pay more. Signing one RFA to a big contract would be a lot easier than trying to sign two of them with the salary cap.

C'mon Dave that's bit harsh! Not team players these days? Their agent is negotiating their contracts and the deal's not done yet, that's all we know. That doesn't mean they aren't team players! Plenty of players have missed training camp while their next contract is being negotiated. The solution is not to lose patience and trade them now!

If you're going to bridge both of them, at least stagger the years so you aren't dealing with both negotiations at the same time again.

Trouble with Kraken, Sens ,Blue Jackets, Devils and Wings and maybe even the Predators is that they are lottery bound teams. Overpaying in $$$ for a player and giving up top picks may not be good solution for these teams long run. You think players want to sign in Buffalo for a few dollars more? Better these teams should keep their picks and spend cap on UFAs when they are closer to contention.
Rangers don't have the cap when you consider the bonuses they have to pay this season. And next season Fox is getting a big raise and there will other RFA getting raises.

Well, it appears that they will be signed tomorrow (Friday). Having met my deadline we no longer need to trade them.
