I don't know about that. It's definitely the hardest choice on there. I see it a lot like I see the Draisaitl vs Makar. You have the best defenseman against a very good forward. I think you've got to go with the best dman.

Marner vs Nurse is probably the easiest one. I'd have taken Nurse off and added Fox up against Point or Barkov then re-arranged from there.

Ok let me start off by saying I have been one of Chychrun's biggest defenders on this site for over a year now. But people saying they would take him over Tkachuk are trolling. Just because you've recently learned who Chychrun is and that he is one of the best young defensemen in the league currently does not make him better than one of the best young forwards in the league, this is recency biased at its finest. Chychrun just had the best season (so far) of his career, he has a strong 2-way game and legitimate potential to be an elite #1 defensemen. Tkachuk is an elite #1 LW also with a strong 2-way game and just had what is widely considered a down year. It's like a year ago when people forgot DeBrincat was an excellent young player because he had a poor 3rd NHL season, even though the year prior he scored 40 goals.

Both players are from the 2016 draft class and I doubt you could find even 1 redraft that has Chychrun going before Tkachuk

I get that, kinda why I pitted them against each other.

One being ELITE, and one TRYING to be elite. Just wanted to see where the opinions are because Tkachuk is set for a big year IMO whereas Chychrun is set for a year where he’s gonna be RELIED on for a big year.

I woulda picked tkachuk personally but I do really like Chychrun more (I’m not a Tkachuk hater I love both of the brothers)

I completely agree. They are both great 2 way players and will only get better. But the reason I chose Tkachuk over Chychrun is for the extra bite and snarl that Tkachuk brings to the game. Personally I prefer an exceptionally strong 2 way game with hard hits and shot blocks, but that also has to do with the position I played most frequently in every sport I played: defense. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love Chyrchrun, but he doesn’t have the same level of grit in his game as Tkachuk, and that is why I chose Tkachuk.
