We've offered Tkachuk a bunch of different contracts.


One of which is an exact copy of Thomas Chabot's, which is 8 million x 8.

We've also offered him 7 million x 6.



The contract that Brady is probably looking for is something like what his brother Matthew got in Calgary, 7 million x 3.


1. At least half of the money for years 1 and 2 in the form of signing bonuses.

2. Followed up with a salary in year 3 that would trigger a qualifying offer of at least 9 million.


Not ideal for teams that have small markets and controversial owners like Ottawa or Buffalo.
