Yeah exactly, and as you said, if Barzal had a bad game or bad incident they ask Barry 3 questions about just that in a weird way, like wtf. Staple that wanted Marleau on the 3rd line in an very early season projection and built his articles around trading Beauvillier for Tarasenko or a lesser 2LD, I was so annoyed at that. Like wasn’t the Toews trade a pretty good example of not doing just that thing. Haha me too, lucky for us we have Brendan Burke announcing the games atleast, it’s telling how good he is listening to some other teams announcers like Boston etc, it’s the worst. In Sweden we can’t choose which broadcast we’ll get either. It’s 99% the home teams broadcast.

This guy also writes some cringe worthy sh*t

Lol The Sharks didn’t even have interest in bringing marleau back. Lou even said that he wouldn’t allow another Toews situation to happen, so it was weird that Staple continued to bring up Beau as a trade candidate. He once mentioned Cam Fowler (who’s 30 and not even worth 6.5 mill for 5 years) and then said something along the lines of: “the isles would surely need to include Beauvillier in this trade” when Ducks fans/writers know that Ducks would have to add a sweetener to move his contract lol.

Brendan Burke is the man - good thing he signed a new contract with the isles. He’s up there with Doc Emric as one of my favorite announcers.

Haha yeah the Marleau thing was a shocker even for him. Oh I forgot about the Fowler thing, what a mess, he probably wanted him based on his love for Nick Leddy, ”he plays a similar style” haha God. The Ducks beat writer Eric Stephens (?) at Athletic is both good and entertaining, you get the feeling he really dislike the GM Murray haha.

For sure, It’s incredible how consistently good he is, game after game.

Oh yes, the guy who wants us to believe he is THE one having inside info about Isles and what Lou will do. That’s how I first heard about this guy. So incredibly cringeworthy. I mean Elliotte Friedman himself just laughs about how he’s never ever heard anything out of Lou’s camp. - but this guy knows a lot of ****. He wrote some **** about he ”hearing” that someone was signed this offseason, think it was Cizikas when the big guys had already speculated on him being back with term.

His time is ticking, what does that even mean? For hime to be one of the best players in the league or what? What kind of player do these people expect him to be? He’s already been better than what you can expect from a late 1st. Does these people not watch the games?

Beauvillier ranks 58th among all NHL forwards in goals above replacement and 61st in expected goals above replacement over the last 3 seasons. That’s a fringe top line impact. He was also on pace for 26 goals last season and his goals for per 60 was send only to Barzal lol. Beauvillier is currently a high end 2nd line winger and he’s just entering his prime. This guy always complains about young players.

Look at what he just posted. Wahlstrom had trouble hitting the net 😂 - the kid was 2nd on the team in shots per 60 behind Anders Lee.

Haha yeah it´s baffling. I noticed the first player Staple tweeted about was Bardreau and the first question postgame was about Bardreau, haha I don´t even know what to say, after a game where Beauvillier and Dobson dominated etc. Bardreau was fine, but his love for fringe 4th liners-AHLers is so weird.

Arthur has something against beauvillier , he could have a 5 point game and in the next article staple would wonder if he could be included in deadline deal for an “upgrade”

I agree.

Dal Colle was horrible, I don´t like Pánik´s first two games. I actually thought Cory Schneider did pretty good. Sebastian Aho wan an disappointment. Pelech is so good nowadays that you don´t expect anything but world class, but man some actions yesterday... so good.

Yeah Dal colle was pretty bad lol. Panik was ok in the 1st game but he seems to lose every board battle and can’t really drive play at all. He’s just a forechecking 4th liner with a good shot.

Panik has 1 secondary assist and some isles fans think he should play over Wahlstrom 😂 - i am sometimes embarrassed to be an isles fan where Trotz and a portion of the fanbase think you deserve to play if you’re over 30.

Me too. We are like a sect, and the majority drinks the Kool-Aid without any questions asked. Even when he scratched Barzal the majority felt like "finally, that will send a message"... This is why I try to not engage with some Islanders fans at all, it´s pretty wild sometimes.

Lol right - it’s insane. God forbid you say that a vet deserves to be a healthy scratch

This guy thinks that scratching two blue chip young players is normal

Haha for f**** sake. Lol. Why don´t scratch Barzy and Beau also, while were at it. These people was exactly the kind of people defending and arguing for why Komarov belonged on the 1LW and why Zajac should play over Wahlstrom. It´s got to be hard for em when Zajac announced his retirement. I celebrated.

Yeah now they’re looking for Panik/Ross to play over a future top line winger. It’s insane. Panik is on his 5th team in 4 years, Ross isn’t even NHL caliber. You can’t make this sh*t up

Haha yeah, maybe Barry actually is a populist, he thinks the fanbase demands him playing the house God Komarov on 1LW and Zajac, Ross etc. haha.

Yeah me too haha, it’s was the best offseason move we could hope for. But were still stuck to Andy Greene.

I hate the way Andy Greene plays the game , man I hope Greene, Panik, Ross have the worst game of their careers in the next pre-season game. Hopefully that’s enough to keep them out of the lineup

From Nassaumen Hockey Podcast today, ”Isles rookies like Robin Salo are impressing this preseason, but could still benefit from time in Bridgeport.” Of course, because he’s only 23 and NHL ready, but Andy Greene 39 have to play, because.

Andy Greene could use some time in Bridgeport - too small(5,11) and slow for the NHL. Robin Salo (6’2) is big and fits the system. These know it all’s wouldn’t know how to respond to that considering they use the size excuse all the time not to play guys

Haha yeah. And age, because you’re ready when entering UFA status.

The same guys that talked about Scott Harrington being an option to trade for in filling that Leddy hole, yes seriously. That was one of the first episodes I listened to and the last.

Nichols was a big fan trading for Dustin Brown and Nick Foligno last trade deadline instead of Taylor Hall or Kyle Palmieri, tells you something. Lmao.

Have you followed the Wahlstrom discussions today on different forums? Twitter, HFBoards and on The Athletic in an article written by Staple followed by comments.

It’s so infuriating that I’m lost for words, 90% of the fans have been so pleased and happy with Barry calling him out for having a bad camp, I’ve seen so many comments like ”we can’t have kids out there trying to win a cup” regarding Wahlstrom and Salo. ”Time in Bridgeport will only be good for him (Wahlstrom)” etc etc. What’s going on!? 😂 ”I’m willing to bet a ton of money that Komorov is in the opening night lineup”. ”I would think it’s Pánik on 3rd and Palms on 1st. This is the way”. These recent from Staples comment section (if it’s even called that🙄). Look under Andrew Gross comment section at Twitter also, are our fanbase crazy? And so f****** typical of Barry throwing Whally and Barzy under the bus while praising literally any other replacement-level player this camp. I get that he’s got big expectations for him, but I don’t like this.

Yeah I’ve seen some of it, it’s embarassing. Between that and Trotz comments on players under the age of 25, I guess it’ll be another year I root for the isles depth players to have terrible seasons. I hope panik , Greene, Komarov have the worst seasons of their careers.

Yeah definitely. And Staple’s questions to Barry about that Wahlstrom have to learn how to be a pro etc. And by his article he is seriously wanting Wahlstrom not to play instead of a Pánik, atleast he’s insinuating it. And he absolutely thinks Greene should play over Salo, and he definitely belongs in the AHL to start the season. He writes pretty much that SHL is a very bad league and Salo have to learn how to play in North America. Smh. It doesn’t matter how you play at the camp at all, which was my fear going in. Trotz pretty much cemented it today when he said Greene doesn’t have to show him or prove anything to him. Greene with Mayfield is a nightmare. But sure, lets try them against Carolina on opening night and let them get eaten alive.
