They aren’t going to re-sign Kadri, Newhook is the future 2C, Nichushkin isn’t a bank breaker at his production levels, and Burakovsky is probably at his production levels a $5.5-$6M deal. So yeah they don’t have cap issues, because I probably follow them closer than you do. LOL

EJ and Compher’s contract expire at the same time as MacK it’s a pretty much foregone conclusion EJ’s money goes to him getting him to McDavid level $. Newhook was the NCAA frosh of the year was a top 10 prospect in the whole league at the start of last year and averaged a ppg in the AHL, the Avs are comfortable with that projection so much so they let a year burn off his elc last year. Throw in prospects that are NHL ready in Kaut and Bowers along with guys like LOC, Jost, Maltsev and Ranta and they don’t need to be looking outside the organization for bottom 6 guys. Now if you wanted to make the trade Compher then you might get some approval from Avs fans but Nichushkin nah.
