Description
Butcher, Eakin, Hagg, Hinostroza and Miller all moved at the deadline for later round picks.

I know Buffalo signing Klingberg is not super realistic but I think Buffalo should really make a push for him. We really need a top RHD too play with Dahlin or Power.

The whole point of drafting a defensemen #1 overall is for THEM to be the guy to run a pairing, not to pay big money to find someone to play with them.

Also, keep dahlin and jokiharju together for a decade

I think it would be in Dahlin an Power best interest too get them a #1 RHD too play with.

And then when both are free agents in 3 years along with half the team, we have Klingberg in his mid 30s tying up a ton of money that we shouldn't have spent just as we hopefully are good again

Kupari has a much higher upside than Olofsson. Lemieux and the second for Olofsson is probably too much for an essentially one-dimensional player.

I can understand you saying Kupari shouldn't be in the trade. I don't really agree but I get the premise. But saying a mid second and Lemieux is even too much? Yeah, get real.

I get what you're saying. Maybe make it a 3 or 4 year deal. Regardless we will have too spend alot of money next year too even be cap compliant, so why not put it too use?

I wouldn’t give up Olofsson, and calling him one dimensional is a misnomer at best. That one dimension is he has a tremendous shot that he can use from anywhere on the ice and score 30 goals for you in a full season. Yeah, but he must be terrible because he’s still in Buffalo.

Well, welcome to CapFriendly. It's always fun to see newcomers join the site and start learning about player values, team structures, etc. I got to your level of "real" in August of 2019. In time, you'll realize that it is questionable whether Olofsson would actually realize a draft pick in the top 45, and adding a guy worth a fourth or fifth isn't very "real."

For the 984756th time, I'm not "new"
I've been on here well over a year, this is just a new account.

And I know about players values, I watch every sabres game. Olo is not a "one dimensional" player.

Saying a 2nd and Lemieux is too much for Olo just shows you have no clue about player values. Don't throw stones when you live in a glass house.

Discounting his meaningless 2017-2018 tryout , he has 33 goals in 110 games. I don't think he's terrible, and his value has nothing to do with Buffalo. A middle second-rounder and a guy who was traded for a fourth seems like a generous valuation to me.

Oh, yeah, NOW I remember: you're the guy who knows so much about player values that he thought Olofsson is worth Derek Ryan, a first and a third. That explains this.

Ryan - Too help Edmonton with cap.
A late first (22-32)
And okay, maybe the third was a bit over, but its a third. YOU really care that much? Lmao.

Like I said, Olo is a great player, playing on a crappy team. He'd thrive next too McDavid, definitely worth a 1st in that case.

And you didn't "remember", you looked through my posts. Don't lie.

Regardless of how, Olofsson can score 30 goals in the full season if he remains healthy. He is likely to get top line minutes and powerplay time this year. As long as he’s healthy I would be absolutely shocked if he doesn’t get at least 20 to 25 goals. Any 30 goal scorer is worth a first round pick. If a team happens to acquire a 30 goal scorer for less than a first round pick they got a steal. I don’t think he even gets traded this year, but if he does it better be for a first round pick.
