You really overvalue Strome and Trouba here. Two potential top 5 picks in 2022 there.

That trouba trade is ridiculous, stevie's not gonna take on Trouba's contract, and he's certainly not gonna give away a 1st and a 3rd in the process, that's ridiculous.

Strome is decent... when he's playing alongside Artemi Panarin. Famously though Panarin does not play for the Ottawa Senators, so they are not gonna donate a 1st round pick to take on someone who's at best a mediocre 2C.

Said it a million times and I'll say it again: The baseline for Hertl at this point in time is as follows...

1. 2022 1st round pick (NYR)

2. One of the following: Chytil, Lundkvist or Schneider

3. Possibly add as needed if there is a bidding war

Hertl will be another aging center on a long term deal like Mika, hell no to trading for him and extending.
