I would like the Sens to claim Joey Anderson, we could still use a bottom six RW imo. Especially if Tkachuk doesn't sign until after the season starts. Joey Anderson would also be more of a long term fit than Ennis, who will probably get a contract to lift us above the floor if we don't sign Tkachuk by the start of the season. Also why did Buffalo waive Dell lol, are they running UPL or Tokarski as Craig Anderson's backup?

How many injured players do the Senators have right now? Because if they have 2 more guys other than White (NHL/AHL) who got injured in camp, they can be placed on normal IR and the Sens can get over the floor without signing anyone.

So Kessel could be traded in the coming weeks

Not in Coyotes plan this season

Only condition is he wants to go to a contender

Colorado makes the most sense as they got the space and assets to get him

Hope he goes back to pittsburgh so we get more clips of Malkin and Kessel yelling at each other

Haven't been able to watch any preseason action yet so I'm not sure who's injured, but with White on IR I think you're right. It's probably more realistic for the Sens to try to claim Koivula to be 4C now, or spare forward if Bishop is the 4C. It's always nice to have a centre as the spare forward because they can switch to wing easier than a wing can switch to centre, and the Sens love their big guys. Signing Ennis to whatever and claiming Koivula (or keeping Greig around for 9 games to start the year, or bringing up like Aberg or something) would put us over the floor (just to check--the floor is 60.2mil right?).

One good waiver grab could be seen in Seattle once Gourde returns. As Geekie could potentially get waived. As once Gourde returns center core will be Gourde, Wennberg, McCann, and Shehan.

Isn't Geekie better than Sheahan? I heard he was having a real good camp, but that was last week so things might've changed. In general it doesn't make sense to waive a young guy that they like though, like they took Geekie over Bean, Niederreiter, etc. he's probably staying in the lineup. And McCann can move to the wing too, he generally underwhelms after a couple weeks at centre.

Tanev-Shehan-Appleton has looked like a really solid 4th line and plays that gritty hard hitting style coaches want to see. The coach often praises it when they play. Reminds me of Pittsburghs 4th line of ZAR-Bleuger-Tanev or the identity line with the Islanders.

Like honestly Seattle has to many good forwards as people forget Blackwell is hurt and when he returns probs gonna get a spot. So unless traded they probs gonna lose one to waivers

As rn I see them going once fully healthy

Schwartz-Gourde-Eberle
Jarnkrok-Wennberg-Donskoi
Donato-Mcann-Blackwell
Tanev-Shehan-Appleton

Extras
Johansson
Bastian
Borgen

Lauzon is probs getting traded and along with geekie once gourde and blackwell come back. Things could change though if blackwell comes back and does not look good.

Honestly, I’d think that Arizona should claim some of these guys off waivers like Lind.

Dallas should be in contention, key word: should.

Last time they made a somewhat big trade was pre-Covid.

I think they want to give some of their prospects a chance first. Cause honestly with all the cap dumps they got enough guys. Even if they move Kessel they got someone to at least fill in.

Could see them claim a player or two but after watching them leave the last 2 waves alone kind of looking like they will stick to what they have.

I think this is an incredibly hot take. Calling each of those guys a 60 point guy is generous seeing how neither of the wingers have actually hit 60 points since 2015 (and while Schwartz was on pace for 66 in 19-20 he was on pace for 43 this year and in 18-19), and McCann's career high is 35 points. I do think McCann will breakout, but a breakout for him would be 60 points. Maybe one or two of them hit 70 points, but most teams can field a better line even if these three combine for 200 points. This would be an elite 2nd line, but it's not a great 1st line. Also calling Tatar-Danault-Gallagher a top 5 line is a huge stretch as well, it's not better than Boston, Colorado, Tampa, Vegas, Edmonton, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Carolina, etc. offensively and most are more than capable defensively, which is secondary for a top line regardless. Same deal goes for ranking Seattle's top line, they simply don't have the firepower, even with a breakout season for McCann, to hang with other top lines offensively, and being a good shutdown line is something you want for your 2nd or 3rd line, you want your 1st line to light up the scoreboard. Like the Tkachuk-Backlund-Frolik line of a few years ago was not a top 15 line because they were great defensively and scored 70 goals, they were just a good 2nd line.

Context matters. McCann was on pace for 61 points last season averaging 14 min of ice time. He’ll be playing 1st line minutes with better linemates this season. I think he’s a lock for 60-65 points this season. Eberle and Schwartz should be 55-60 pt guys as well. The line will score goals at a borderline elite rate and they won’t give up much because of their elite defensive play. Their goal share should be between 55-60% which would be a top 15 1st line.
Tkachuk-Backlund-Frolik were only a great line in 18-19 when they played 48 games together. They scored 4 goals per 60 minutes which is a 1st line rate.

Tatar-Danault-Gallagher was a top 5 1st line and neither of them were PPG players. This is MTL compared to BOS 1st line

To be fair, your argument is mostly speculation. McCann is great but saying he is a lock for 60-65 points is an extremely hot take. I’d say maybe 55 but I doubt he almost doubles his career high

Why are we ignoring the fact the last two seasons have been shortened lol - McCann was on pace for 61 points last season averaging 14 minutes, which is 3rd line minutes. He’s going to get a lot more ice time this season and play on PP1. I don’t think it’s an unreasonable take to think he’ll get at least 60 this season.

Saw Ullmark was trending wondered why. Just a bunch of Bruins fans hating on him. So I decided k lets see if its justified so I checked his preseason numbers and its looking like an early struggle for him

gm 1: 0.846Sv 11/13
gm 2: 0.789Sv 15/19
gm 3: 0.869Sv 26/30

So basically in 3 games Ullmark has a 0.835SV and a 3.33GAA

Still though its preseason so these fans got to relax lul. Cause man are they turning on him faster than penguins fans turned on Jarry lul.

That said found this funny clip wink

More Dang-its for the ages lul.

Hope he survives the year

If the Senators don’t sign anyone to a deal over $1 million, they basically need to have 26 players on the roster to exceed the salary floor. Since the roster limit is 23, they’ll have to carry at least 3 injured players to exceed the floor. If White is the only injured player (which is very unlikely) they’d need to sign Ennis to a deal around $2 million.
