Only gripe I have with TSNs list year is Rantanen, Stone and McAvoys placement. And Malkins inclusion. Rantanen and Stone > Pasta and Marner. Theodore could be higher as well and McAvoy should be a top 5 d-man along with Makar, Fox, Hedman and a 5th of your choice

Volkov, Koivula, Lind, Anderson, Mennell and Gadjovich could all be claimed imo

Probs of all of them Volkov is a for sure grab. Anderson maybe but that neck injury may sway teams away. Koivula is an AHLer along with Gadjovich but NJ claimed a similar player so maybe. Now Lind is up in the air along with Mennell. I dont think either gets taken but who knows.

Honestly not many guys being claimed this year. Makes sense with the flat cap and all. That said other than Pitlick every other guy claimed made no sense lul.

Surprised Hutchinson didnt get claimed but hey the Marlies gonna be stacked lul.

I found this little time capsule on my look through the internet. TBH i would have preferred if this trade went down.

lol please I’m begging a team to claim him. There is no difference between Ross Johnston and the 6’5 grinder at your local beer league.

Had this idea for a while

Instead of trading Engvall for a 7th or something or losing him for nothing

Why not trade Engvall for Lawrence Pilut or some other reserve player

Pilut can go on the leafs reserve list and Buffalo gets a player they can use.

Win-Win trade in the end

Johnston-Hintz-pavelski

It would be nice if it was Wyatt instead of Ross. A line of Hintz-Johnston-Pavelski would be mental, only thing is that Johnston is 2 years away from being in the NHL while Pavs is pretty much 2 year’s away from retirement.

Devils should put in a claim for joey anderson lol - I still think he makes it as a 3rd liner. Poor mans Blake Coleman IMO

I doubt he has a chance to make the Devils roster
That's why we traded him last year

Seattle is going to have no problem making the playoffs this season. The defense/goaltending is solid and their 1st line of Schwartz-Mccann-Eberle has the potential to be a top 15 1st line in the league.

I think this is an incredibly hot take. Calling each of those guys a 60 point guy is generous seeing how neither of the wingers have actually hit 60 points since 2015 (and while Schwartz was on pace for 66 in 19-20 he was on pace for 43 this year and in 18-19), and McCann's career high is 35 points. I do think McCann will breakout, but a breakout for him would be 60 points. Maybe one or two of them hit 70 points, but most teams can field a better line even if these three combine for 200 points. This would be an elite 2nd line, but it's not a great 1st line. Also calling Tatar-Danault-Gallagher a top 5 line is a huge stretch as well, it's not better than Boston, Colorado, Tampa, Vegas, Edmonton, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Carolina, etc. offensively and most are more than capable defensively, which is secondary for a top line regardless. Same deal goes for ranking Seattle's top line, they simply don't have the firepower, even with a breakout season for McCann, to hang with other top lines offensively, and being a good shutdown line is something you want for your 2nd or 3rd line, you want your 1st line to light up the scoreboard. Like the Tkachuk-Backlund-Frolik line of a few years ago was not a top 15 line because they were great defensively and scored 70 goals, they were just a good 2nd line.

I would like the Sens to claim Joey Anderson, we could still use a bottom six RW imo. Especially if Tkachuk doesn't sign until after the season starts. Joey Anderson would also be more of a long term fit than Ennis, who will probably get a contract to lift us above the floor if we don't sign Tkachuk by the start of the season. Also why did Buffalo waive Dell lol, are they running UPL or Tokarski as Craig Anderson's backup?

Mmm I would recommend not doing so. A few months ago he injured his neck and ever since really has not looked good. But cant blame him as neck injuries take a long time to fully heal. Honestly surprised hes playing rn lul.

Honestly the Sens are better off taking Volkov who not only gets you to the cap floor, but fits Ottawa's playstyle. If it wasnt for Simmonds and Semyonov would have loved Dubas to take a look at him lul.

Don't really need more lefties tbh, we have Stutzle, Formenton, Paul, Sanford, and if he signs Tkachuk, and I also don't think Volkov is even really better than Ennis. Anderson would be a bottom 6 RW with Watson until Tkachuk signs, allowing the first 4 guys above to all play LW in the short term, although he'd probably swap 4RW/spare after that as Paul likely plays his off wing on the 3rd line. If he still looks hurt then maybe we don't claim him, but he'd be a nice add based on potential and we can at least give him a spot in our top 13 right now and let him earn his way higher if he can.

Volkov can play both sides (LW and RW). Actually prefers playing RW as that was where he mostly was with the Ducks. Honestly I feel he would be a perfect fit for the sens as he plays that tough sturdy game DJ Smith loves.

But yeah Anderson if healthy would probs be claimed immediately but with a history of repeated neck injuries he may not have a long hockey career. Still someone may take a chance.

Yeah but if we throw a leftie on the right side, we might as well just claim nobody and do that with Paul or Ennis, who can both play RW as well, and are better. Anderson would bring upside (everyone keeps comparing him to Coleman although I think that's a little bit of Leafs bias overrating every prospect) and actually shoots right to balance the lineup. And he'd probably fit nicely on a 3rd line like Formenton-Greig-Anderson long term if he reaches his potential.
