Seattle is going to have no problem making the playoffs this season. The defense/goaltending is solid and their 1st line of Schwartz-Mccann-Eberle has the potential to be a top 15 1st line in the league.
I think this is an incredibly hot take. Calling each of those guys a 60 point guy is generous seeing how neither of the wingers have actually hit 60 points since 2015 (and while Schwartz was on pace for 66 in 19-20 he was on pace for 43 this year and in 18-19), and McCann's career high is 35 points. I do think McCann will breakout, but a breakout for him would be 60 points. Maybe one or two of them hit 70 points, but most teams can field a better line even if these three combine for 200 points. This would be an elite 2nd line, but it's not a great 1st line. Also calling Tatar-Danault-Gallagher a top 5 line is a huge stretch as well, it's not better than Boston, Colorado, Tampa, Vegas, Edmonton, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Carolina, etc. offensively and most are more than capable defensively, which is secondary for a top line regardless. Same deal goes for ranking Seattle's top line, they simply don't have the firepower, even with a breakout season for McCann, to hang with other top lines offensively, and being a good shutdown line is something you want for your 2nd or 3rd line, you want your 1st line to light up the scoreboard. Like the Tkachuk-Backlund-Frolik line of a few years ago was not a top 15 line because they were great defensively and scored 70 goals, they were just a good 2nd line.
