I am neither a Vancouver fan nor a New Jersey fan, but I would like to see the Hughes brothers play for the same NHL team at some point. Whether or not it is this season, I do not know. But Vancouver does not exactly have enough cap space to sign both of them to the big contracts that were rumored. That’s why Vancouver has been so scared of an OS to Petey, as if it is more than 10mil, they most likely can’t bring back Hughes, unless Hughes is willing to only be payed about a mil. Looking at the statistical side for NJD players paydays, Jack Hughes most likely isn’t getting a BIG payday. He will most likely be getting a slight raise on a bridge deal, something like 2-3mil x 3 years. Because if you look at the statistics, J. Hughes has played more games than most if not all of his draft class, but he does have the best points pace. That title goes to Hoglander, who has played half the games as J. Hughes, but has more than half the points he does. But I am getting off topic, so I digress.
My point is, I am not sure when a deal like this will happen, but Q. Hughes will most likely end up as a Devil at some point.
