Description
So this is a mostly silly post, but with Pettersson's negotiating position improving with the kaprizov deal, if Vancouver decides to sign one of their big youngsters and trade Hughes to jersey for the triple bro connection what would it cost?

Smith, Holtz, and a 1st. They aren't interested in trading him unless it's an overpayment

Honestly, he's a great player and it would be a PR coup, but lets stop. Smith is a fine defender and I think Mercer is a much needed winger for 13 or 86. Also we are flush with lefty D men. If he feels the need to play with his bros do it in FA, enough already.

Mostly just being silly as Vancouver's negotiating position just took a hit

I don't know if Hughes could be considered a great player. I question about two Hughes maybe three Hughes on same team. They just might have this brotherly bond, instead of a "team" bond. Maybe later in their careers, but in their early 20s, I think it puts the coachesin a touchy position.

    Agreed with @Smitty426

Quinn is a good player but the Devils don't need him right now. They have enough offensive defensemen. Vancouver would want an overpayment to get Quinn and the Devils wouldn't be the team to overpay for him.
Since the Canucks are struggling to negotiate a contract with Quinn, it's more likely they fold into Quinn's demands in terms of AAV and term, which could be bad for the Canucks

I know this will be considered sacrilege to the Quinn Hughes fandom & Hughes Family worshippers, but the gap between Quinn and Smith is not that great. If Vancouver could make a trade for Smith and another high level prospect or pick, long term, they will win this trade. They could probably even get more, given the Hughes brother hype, but its a win either way.

I think Quinn was put in a position to fail last season because Benning can’t construct a competent D-core, but I agree that the gap isn’t that great.

That's what Jack basically intimated in his interview today. Little bro was firing some shots on behalf of Quinn today.

All of these Quinn-to-NJD packages, like these two above, are nowhere near reality.
Teams don't give up hockey assets for the sake of a PR win.

The gap between Quinn and Smith is de minimus.
If there were a hockey trade to be made, it would essentially be Quinn for Smith (with some minor parts perhaps).
    And that is it.
Guys like Severson, Mercer, Holtz, or high picks are not going to be added just for the sake of the "three brothers" PR win.
