Eichel wasn't worth 4 first round players/picks when he was healthy, so this is a big overpay. Rangers say noooooooooooooooooo.

Why hasn't he been traded yet then? I think the lost mind is on your side of this argument.

A player is only worth what teams are willing to offer for him. He isn't worth 4 first rounders if no one is willing tp pay 4 first rounders for him.

Now here is a person that knows how a market works. Kudos for injecting some common sense into the Eichel insanity. Unfortunately, Buffalo fans are immune to common sense.

Probably could at the deadline.
I'd be more concerned having another player that needs sheltering.

B.S. The Rangers made an offer for him the year prior when he was healthy, and they were not offering 4 first round pick/players for him then. No GM in his right mind is going to pay that price for Eichel, healthy or not.

40 goal seasons.....NONE
90 point seasons......NONE
Playoff games he has led his team to in 6 years.......NONE
Career face off percentage.....44.2%
Defensive that is so-so
And now in a heated disagreement with his team over his injury and he carries a $10/m a year cap hit.

You think that is worth 4 first round players/picks? If so, you have a thinking problem IMO.

Yeah the Rangers offered a lowball offer (by all accounts) and the trade didnt happen... weird. The Rangers just are not serious enough

OR...the Rangers are reasonable and have evaluated his worth correctly. Much more likely option.

I'm always stuck in the middle when it comes too Eichel to Rangers trades (I'm a Rangers and Sabres fan)
Though, I usually lean on the Sabres side. Rangers fans are absolutely ridiculous when it comes to Eichel trades. You don't wanna give up Kakko plus 2-3 other GOOD pieces? Fine, Eichel won't be going to MSG. Eichel hasn't be traded yet, simply, because he's hurt. Buffalo are playing their cards with him right now. I guarantee but the new year hes either traded or at the very least recovering from his surgery.

Actually from what I have seen, the Canadian ACGM are the most reasonable and usually present fair trades.

I agree most of the offers from Ranger fans are too low or offer the wrong pieces.
I think the two O'Reilly trades will shed some insight as to what Jack will return.
The Sabres greatly over paid for him, but Murray did that with all of his trades:
Mikhail Grigorenko, While he did not turn into an NHL player, at one time he was the highest ranked pre-draft prospect.
JT Compher, an early 2nd round pick and coveted for his two way play.
Nikita Zadorov hard hitting defenseman taken in the first round.
31st OA in the 2015 draft
So nearly 4 first round picks
From the Blues:
Vladimir Sobotka, He was added to help adjust for the difference in the cap.
Patrik Berglund he just did not work out in Buffalo and left the team. But in the previous 3 seasons with the Blues playing in 181 games he had 50 goals.
Tage Thompson one of the biggest NHL players and is still learning to use his size. He looked really good playing RW with Mittelstadt
round 1 pick in the 2019 draft (Ryan Johnson)
round 2 pick in the 2021 draft this pick became Colin Miller
About 4 first round picks.
What could we expect from the Rangers.
Strome
Chytil
2 firsts
Maybe Georgiev is added.
An alternative I have seen:
Eichel and Miller to Rangers for:
Trouba
Chytil
Schneider
two firsts.
Let me close, the offer above is over the top, I would take it without question and then try to close the salary gap to reach the bottom.
Two decent young players, two first round picks and 3 second round picks.
