Let's say I made zero trades...
Personally, I think you'd banking a lot on Drouin and Anderson to have real bounce-back seasons. As well, have Hoffman know his role and do it well because I see him as a one way player: PP specialist and shooter. He doesn't really drive the offense. As well, I don't think the left side of their defence is strong at all and will really rely on the right side. Yeah size and grit is cool and all but eventually, you're gonna need some skill in the back end other than Petry. Really hoping Romanov makes a big leap.
Our LD as is was strong enough for a SCF so thats pure opinion inspite of fact that isnt even 3 months ago so shouldnt be forgotten so easily .
Drouin and Anderson arent being thought about to much they're the 3/3 person on each of their lines
MTL runs 4 line system under Ducharme usually with those lines staying the same and when changed 1/3 forwards on 3 lines are flipped or he uses Bench depth players.
He doesnt line mash and 1st and 3rd line have about 1 minute ice time difference 5v5
Hoffmans - On a Line with ARZ leading Goal Scorer the past 2 years and MTL's (he's not even the biggest Goal Scoring Threat on his line so he'll slip in undetected like Glenn Anderson made a career on)
Drouin/Anderson are on 3rd which often was played 4th line due to KK poor play with Lehkonen/Byron-Evans-Armia/Perry 4th line stepping up which eventually became Armia-Staal-Perry line in the playoffs
Armia and Evans can both rotate up to 3rd line to replace either
Paquette can draw in as 4th C with support from Perrault in the faceoff circle if needed
Romanov has an Entire year before we expect anything from him
Then his security blankets of Kulak/Chiarot are gone and he's on his own surrounded by LD Prospects turning pro
