None. He can't score except on the PP and he isn't getting PP time in Edmonton. He's a perimeter player who doesn't go to the hard areas, doesn't win board battles and doesn't defend well. If I was Holland I wouldn't take him for free.

I’d take jp over him without any questions. Hyman can play rw easily better. I’m higher on Olofsson than my fellow oilers fan but he’s arguably 4-5th best rw option in Edmonton.

Over the past 2 seasons (basically his whole career) Olofsson has scored just 0.39 goals/60 at 5v5. That's one of the worst performances in the NHL... 413th in the NHL among forwards, in fact. That's WELL below replacement level. He's 317th for P/60 (4th line production), 418th for IPP, showing he doesn't drive play. His 0.51 ixG/60 (375th) and his 1.93 iHDCF/60 (461st) show that he can't / won't go to the high danger areas against NHL defensemen. He's USELESS at 5v5, and when you factor in his age (at 26, he doesn't have untapped potential) and contract ($3.05M) mean he'd be considered a cap dump by any team that doesn't need a PP specialist.

Puljujarvi has 11 goals in 55 GP = 0.20 G/GP
Olofsson has 10 goals in 110 GP = 0.09 G/GP

That's why I was going by RATES, as it gives some context that totals don't. JP scored 0.89 G/60 vs 0.39 for Olofsson. Why? He goes to the high danger areas, as witnessed by his 4.51 iHDCF/60, which is 2.3 times the rate Olofsson achieved.

Also, Puljujarvi spent 552 of a possible 745 minutes with McDavid (74%), while Olofsson spent 808 of a possible 1038 with Eichel (78%).
