I get it makes sense in the context of building an 18 player roster of candidates, but none of those other D belong in the same realm of chance as Seider (and I'm not a Red Wings fan)

Leaves marco rossi off the list

Drysdale and Byram certainly belong there with Seider. Byram may not have a great chance since he's stuck behind other talented defensemen, but I wouldn't leave him off from a talent standpoint.

No Podkolzin? outside of Caufield (and maybe Kaliyev) I think he will get more icetime than any of the other RWs listed. Most have him penciled in on the 3rd line , while I would be surprised if Lind makes Seattle, and they arent seen as being a good offensive team.

Timmins is in a great spot, he might get a much better opportunity than most of the dmen listed- outside of Seider and Drysdale. Byram has his work cut out for him to get any kind of icetime with Colorado this year.

Rossi and Podkolzin should be on here.

Zegras will play Center.

Kravtsov and lundkvist from the rangers?!?!?!

Evan Bouchard should be here. That guy is insane, especially if he gets good on his defensive game!

Have you ever heard of Jamie Drysdale? He’s good, and he should definitely be here.

Sadly Bouchard is eligible for the Calder, but Ryan McLeod should be up there though

Goalies never win so I get why you didn't add any, but Spencer Knight has as good of a chance to win as most of the people on this roster

Swayman could be a second goalie if you really want to fill out the roster, but he has a sliver of a chance

I am big believer in Sampo Ranta. Pretty high ceiling.


Drysdale, Perunovich and Byram all have equal chance for Calder as Seider.
Seider may be better d-man over long term, but those guys will get important minutes this year.

Both could be there, still think Kravtsov is a little raw to be putting up enough points for Calder.
Nils certainly there if he gets everyday work.


Knight and Swayman are obvious names.
But I left out goalies, since its often the unexpected name that surprises us.
