Just my opinion, I think the Leafs benefit from the deal at least long term. Hertl and Leblanc for Marner might be about even talent wise this year. Then he Leafs get a 6m in cap space, Leblanc and probably a good draft pick for the future.

I don’t think Toronto takes hertl Labanc and a 1st for Marner let alone them giving up a 1st and 3rd with Marner for that package

I'm sure the sharks would love to spend over $22M on Karlsson and Marner

Meier ,Burns ,Reedy , 1st(top 3 protected) and a conditional 2nd in 2023 that becomes a 1st in 2024 if Burns retires before then
Burns would give TML depth on their blue line not to mention more size and an aging but still lethal shot so he's not a cap dump but is being move to make Marner cap work
Reedy is a NCAA prospect that had a good 1st year in the AHL and might develop into a 4th line Center who contributes on special teams

the leafs arnt taking burns for anything that wouldnt cripple the sharks for a generation

the leafs would want 3 first rounders and none going back. I don't know what stats people are looking at with these crap deals for a guy fourth in league scoring
