Norlinder is back from injury. Since Edmundson should return within the next few days, he’ll likely be sent to Frölunda soon.

Paquette has been suspended 2 games. Rightfully so, and I’m sort of glad so we can just see more of Adam Brooks.

Caufield sent down. Let him get his confidence up. The results don’t matter at this point, and do whatever’s best for him and his development.

Petry & Gallagher injured. Who’s surprised? Not me.

Michael Pezzetta recalled. Woo boy, what a great story. He was rotating as the 4th line LW on Laval last year with 9 points in his last 52 games in the AHL (19-21). He looked like he wasn’t going to get another NHL contract. This year he had a great preseason and 6 points in 8 AHL games, and gets called up to the NHL. I am so happy for him, I love this guy.

Well now that Paquette is out, let’s go crazy. Put Wideman on forward and Norlinder can make his NHL debut. These are somehow the most likely lines tomorrow, but if you showed me this 1.5 months ago I would’ve thought you were absolutely insane:

God do we need some players to be healthy, who knows how the start of the season plays if Eddy/Price is there

The thing is that neither of those players would’ve fixed our scoring woes. Ultimately, it’s probably for the best that the season has played out as it has, because it’s better for an established team like Montréal to be really bad for one year than barely miss the playoffs like we probably would have if we had Eddy and Carey sooner.
