I'm not fully convinced Andersen can bring it back, I've been watching him the last two years and I think your goaltending will let you down.

But they haven't had good goaltending in years. Just a few handfuls of games with Ned, but Mrazek Reimer were awful.

Im not a Canes fan but Andersen and Raanta are good enough with that dcore in front of them. They likely win the division or finish 2nd

Only 7 teams in the west make the playoffs, that has to be the boldest prediction yet. I like it.

I've been watching Andersen with a good D-core in front of him for 2 years now - he hasn't been the same incredible goaltender that he was in the first 3 years of his deal. I think it's neck and neck with the Canes, the Sens, and the Penguins for the wildcard spots.

This is also the way-too-early prediction thread, I'm fully prepared to eat crow at the end of the year, haha.

Toronto's "good dcore" doesn't hold a candle to Carolina's. Not comparable

Ottawa was quite good in the last half of the season once they had lost the boat anchor vets, and Montreal lost their #1C and #1RD. Ottawa I see like Toronto in 2016 - young kids getting a taste of the playoffs. I think they're built very well and they have the cap space to make a SIGNIFICANT add at the trade deadline.

Montreal and Carolina didn't improve as significantly as the Bruins (even with the loss of their 2C), so I think the wildcard spots are going to have a ton of competition.

It's also WAY too early, lol. Please tag me halfway through the season to tell me how wrong I got it smile

Ugh Calgary?? Nope. It was much better before

I do like that you have the kings in 3rd, while Chicago in 3rd, FLA and CAR missing, and OTT just squeezing in makes this very interesting. I figure the east is a big crapshoot so the end of the season should be very close and very tense…I can’t wait.

I think the wildcard spots in the East are going to FEROCIOUS this year. The 3rd in each east division might as well be a wildcard spot because there's so many good teams. I'm interested to see if Spencer Knight is the real deal, or if Bobrovsky just pulls out a Vezina year. I mostly went off of the bets that Ullmark and Hall put the Bruins over Florida and the Canes, and that the Lightning and Leafs maintain their dominant play.

I would not count Ottawa out at all, but I do find it odd that you point to Ottawa's success in the 2nd half of the season as a reason they will make the playoffs while obviously dismissing MTL's cup run in which they beat TOR, dominated WPG and beat the annual contenders VGK.

Also MTL did not lose their #1RD... that's Jeff Petry and he's still playing. Weber was very mediocre during the season (obviously dealing with injuries) and Savard replaces him. Danault also isn't the #1C that's Suzuki. MTL replaced Danault with Dvorak ho scored 17 goals in 56 games while KK and Danault only scored 10 combined. If you look at goal totals from the players MTL added vs the ones they lost its quite clear MTL upgraded on paper.
