Naw, It doesn't Gibson hasn't been elite for two years now. He has actually been subpar with 43% quality starts and SV below league average. Teams don't trade 2 of their top 3 prospects for subpar.

Except Price has only had 1 of his 14 seasons sub 50% quality starts no matter how bad Habs were Price was always consistent. 43% quality starts is like bottom of the league even Goalies on bad teams can post good quality starts Ullmark has career average of 56% and played every game for Buffalo. An elite goalie should be able to be better then what Gibson has been showing simple as that.

Certainly one of them, but not both. If Anaheim doesn't think they can be competitive before he exits his prime, they should look at moving him IMO. They have some nice young Pieces but are still multiple years away. But this offer definitely does not get it done though.

Samorukov is ahead of Broberg in development. He’s now Edmonton’s top prospect on defence. Gibson is overpaid and overpriced in a trade. Edmonton doesn’t really have cap space for much of a goalie in the next 2 years.

Here’s the problem with his stats, once the team shows how poorly they will be Gibson seems to mentally check out. When the team has been solid and showing they can win games he was elite. In the seasons since the team has been awful and he’s just gone thru the motions. If you watch the first month of this poor seasons you’ll see an elite Gibson.
